Why we started the business?

After 23 years of working in manufacturing the bombshell of being made redundant was extremely upsetting. At this point, being 43 years old, Darren wanted to take charge of his own destiny and remove the risk of redundancy happening ever again.

A family business with an environmentally friendly touch

The option to run his own business greatly appealed. He wanted to work in an environment where the pressure of deadlines and demanding unsociable hours was removed allowing him to obtain a better work-life balance, whilst providing an income for his family.

In 2013 Prestige Oven Cleaning was formed, offering oven cleaning services with an environmentally friendly touch. As a father of a young son, protecting the environment has become increasing important. Darren made it his mission to not use products containing chemicals and ensuring everything is environmentally friendly.

2 ovens to 4500 contacts

From the early development of the business cleaning 2 to 3 ovens a day the business over the past 8 years has grown to over 4500 oven cleaning contacts in Darren’s local area and the demand keeps growing and growing. Being an oven cleaner is greatly rewarding, Darren never gets bored as no two jobs are the same and it allows him to meet different people every day. Darren work’s hard to achieve customer satisfaction and has many returning customers.

Darren says: “If I am honest, one of the best things for me as an oven cleaner is the amazement on the customers face once the clean is completed, it is hugely satisfying. The flexible working hours allow for me to balance my time around my family’s needs, I can collect my son from school and I never miss watching him play in a football match.

My wife is very envious of the passion I have for my work as she dreads the return to work after a sunshine break. I simply can’t wait to get back in my van and get back to cleaning ovens, its lovely having a job that I enjoy so much”
